Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Citrucel, Preparation H, and Jarro

Do you think it's possible you're just having a hard time getting used to the Citrucel? Is it the powder or capsules? How much are you taking? How long have you been taking it -- four weeks? Have you tried increasing it, perhaps too soon or too much all at once?

I was stable for quite awhile, then I had an attack a few weeks ago, and got another last night. It's frustrating, I know. I'm a D -- I've never had C, so I don't know what that's like (although I'd much rather have D and be able to get it all out of me!), so I don't know if I can be of much help to you in that department.

For those hemorrhoids, can't you use a suppository, like Preparation H? I used the cream externally and got rid of mine (but there were external only). Also, I never go to the bathroom without my "potty wipes," which I also keep in my purse for "on-the-road" potty visits. They're a Godsend!

I don't know if this will help you much, but I noticed a big improvement when I started taking a probiotic. I've been on them now for about 4 months, and I love them. My poops are much more "normal" now, and the bloating and gas are greatly reduced.
