i will let you know for sure that fiber will DEFINITELY help with diarrhea. DEFINITELY.

i am IBS-A but predominantly D... and until i found the right fiber supplement for me (acacia) and the right pacing while i addded it, i was really quite D! but within days of starting the acacia, slowly, i was sayin' bye-bye diarrhea! what a relief that was...

what are you eating while you are going through this? my advice is to go back to What To Eat When You Can't Eat Anything 'til you stabilize.

have you changed other things while you're doing this? for instance, i personally had a problem adding soy to quickly (i jumped in with both feet!), and since i'd only ever had small, occasional amounts in the past, that really through me for a loop-de-loop and i was dashing off to the bathroom constantly. UGH. i took a week off of soy altogether to regroup, then started adding it back in slowly. the reason i mention that is because it's sometimes the craziest things that can make you backslide terribly-- and you may blame it on the wrong thing. of course, it surely could be the fiber causing the disruption! you have to be a freakin' private investigator to conquer this dang IBS!

as for the green, sounds like you've gotten some conflicting advice, and i'm not going to be of any help there.... i've had the green happen before, but not with such brilliance . how's your relationship with your doc? can you call and ask first thing in the morning!?

you know, the more i think about it, if i were you i would stop the Fibercon for now, eat the staples, get your balance back, then slooooowly add the Fibercon back in. try just one dose a day for a week, then add a second dose, then a week later add again... and so on. since you're in such misery right now, i think messing with the fiber supplements may be too much for your poor body.
