I am so frustrated with my digestive system, I could scream I have tried Heather's IBS diet (I bought both books in 2001), and I have tried eating "normally" (not watching fat, eating basically whatever I want), and I feel bad no matter what I do! I usually have C, but lately I've been having D I've been to a GI doc, (actually 2 - I didn't like the first one so I asked my family doc for authorization to get a second opinion) and she (the 2nd one) insists that I have IBS. The last time I was there she told me to try Zelnorm. I did but it actually made me feel worse - I was so nauseated I could hardly eat anything. She told me to call her back if the Zelnorm didn't work. This was back in February and I haven't called yet because I am so FRUSTRATED!! She did say she would do a colonoscopy and some other test for celiac, however she is positive I have IBS. The celiac came into question because one of the blood tests for it came back positive. But both this GI doc and the one I met with before her brushed it off and said that the test that came back positive on me is not reliable!! I know other people have had similar experiences, I guess I partly wanted to vent and also ask if people think it is worth getting these tests done? Or should I look for yet another GI doc?
