You can substitute anything soy with rice products instead….milks, cheeses, ice creams, etc. There is also almond and oat milks that are safe for you. Soy, in all forms, is something you should STAY AWAY from with hypothyroidism, and even more so if you are already on medication for it. Here is a link: Hypothyroidism . It has a wealth of info on soy and if you don't have Mary Shomon's book, you may want to consider getting it. Besides soy, you should avoid cruciferous veggies and peanut butter but all fruits are safe except for peaches and pears.
Take it from one who knows. I've been hypothyroid now for about 10 years, and yes I have a goiter. In fact I'm trying to get over a case of viral thyroiditis right now where the TSH and T-4 goes to the basement. It will take up to 2 months and in the meantime you get nasty symptoms….not fun .
