Personally, I probably would wait until he stabalized to add the fiber supplements. They can cause a lot of excess gas and bloating when you first start them, and that's exactly what you DON'T want when you're already feeling terrible. Otherwise I'd start out even more slowly... maybe 1/2 tsp twice a day! I know that sounds like nothing, but I've found that I have to increase fiber supplements at such a slow rate or they bother me. I hope that helps... and that your hubby starts to improve soon!
