I have the same problem as you. Can't stand my GI -- but my regular doc tells me he's the best in town. Actually, I have to say my colonoscopy was delightful; I have no complaints whatsoever in that department. That's really the bottom line: does the GI know what he's doing? How good is he? If your doc thinks he's "the best in town," then swallow your pride and sign up for the colonoscopy. (But "swallowing your pride" don't mean taking any cr-- from him. Tell him what you AND YOUR DOC want done, and make sure he does it.) Well, now, you had a happy birthday after all, eh?
