I'm shocked! Carpets in California bathrooms?? I never woulda guessed it! 
Upon some deeper consideration of this carpet in the bathroom happening, I have to admit that when I lived with my parents in Canada, they had that really cold tile flooring in the bathroom. And even though I can help peering into the fluffy white carpet from time to time, wondering if maybe there is something hiding in there, it sure does feet a lot better against the feet than that cold tile.
Actually... do you know what the funniest bit is, now that I think of it? My mom bought a throw rug to put down IN the bathroom to cover up the unheatable tiles... So I guess it does make more sense to just have the carpet there in the first place maybe...
Bev, you have given me a revelation.
