Yep. Last house we built in California we had them install wall-to-wall carpeting throughout the entire upstairs (including the bathrooms) and entire downstairs master bedroom AND MASTER BATH, all around the toilet, the shower, the soaking tub, vanity -- yep, ENTIRE ROOM. The only rooms that didn't have it were the kitchen, dining room and living room, and they were hardwood floors.
But wait! I have more to shock you! Guess what color the wall-to-wall carpeting was? Yep, you guessed it -- WHITE. Now how 'bout THAT!?
I loved it -- absolutely LOVED it. It was so warm and clean and white and yummy under foot; I even liked to lie on it. (We won't go there.)
When we began building our new home up here, I told the builder I wanted the same thing. He wouldn't do it. He said no, no wall-to-wall carpeting in the bathrooms, nope, just refused. He said I could pick anything else, but recommended vinyl, tile, even hardwood, but absolutely no carpeting. I chose ceramic tile. Can you imagine how freezing cold that's going to be in the middle of the night when I get up every 2 hours to go pee?!?  I'm gonna have to get me some huge throw rugs for that room. Maybe it'll all be -- BRIGHT PINK!
