Hi hi, You know what's funny? I was thinking about this exact thing when I was lying in bed this morning. I went through a GI clinic in 1992, when I was 8 years old. Once all the test results came back (and of course found nothing), I was told I had IBS. I was put on tons of different diets, tons of different meds and by the time I was a teenager, just stopped getting 'treated' all together. From what I remember of my tummy in high school, I was completely functional. Not afraid of long car journeys, ate at McDonalds, etc. Just once in a while, I'd feel really sick. Now I'm sick as a dog. I rarely leave the house for fear of getting sick, you couldn't get me on a long bus ride to save my life, and my diet is really strict. It's been years and years since my initial diagnosis, but it's only now that I am really suffering from it. I don't know if it is stress or I've heard arguments about birth control or if my body just decided to up it's game a little, I dunno. Either way, I liked the mildly uncomfortable IBS I _used_ to have, as opposed to the life altering, depressing, anxiety ridden IBS I have now. Weird, isn't it? --Steph
