Has anyone else experienced this...?

Just wondering, has anyone else found that their IBS really flared up out of nowhere, or do most people find that they've always had stomach problems?
I'm asking because I've had stomach problems my whole life (indigestion, alternating C and D, acid reflux and intolerance to a lot of foods, namely anything fried or really fatty) but it didn't get really severe until only about 2 months ago. I always assumed I had something like IBS, but it's only been over the last little while that it's been so severe. It used to be that if I ate something extremely fatty I might spend the next day in the bathroom but nothing too bad, whereas now it seems everything I eat sends me into the bathroom, and the pain is far more extreme.
Is this fairly common with IBS...or is it unusual for it to get a lot more severe all of a sudden? I'm just trying to get an idea for when I see my doctor
Thanks guys!
Kelly
