As I was getting ready for the day and using some Lubriderm lotion I glanced at the back of the bottle and saw one of the ingredients - sorbitol solution and thought geez, that stuff is in all kinds of stuff and not just food. Then my mind wandered to how much of this stuff is absorbed into the body, like with BC or hormone patches. Then I started wondering about all the junk in make up. Started me wondering why 70% of the IBS sufferers are women. Could it be all the makeup and products we use that men don't and all this junk has just accumulated in our bodies, or how about cleaning products. Now I don't know about your household but in mine, my husband wouldn't even know where to find a cleaning product. Maybe I should go on strike, no make up and no cleaning for a few months and see if my symptoms go away
