Most people start out on the desserts like Tofuti Cuties- ice cream sandwiches (AWESOME!) or other ice cream substitutes. The soy milk is kind of tricky. There are so many and they taste so different. My problem was I was used to drinking lowfat 1% milk. So when I switched to soy milk I didn't realize that you have to get light or lowfat as well to have the same consistency as what I was used to. I don't know what brands you have in Canada..but most people use the plain soy milk to cook with but the vanilla flavored to drink and eat with cereal. It kind of masks that funny taste. I use Harmony Farms. It causes less gas becuase it is made from different beans. Just try out different ones. SOme are great and some are awful!
