I'd had a colonoscopy done in 5/03 that showed nothing abnormal expect for a single diverticuli. Yes, my original diagnosis of IBS (and I swear steam STILL comes out of my ears when I think about this) came from a doctor who, after listening to me rattle off my list of symptoms and me suggesting that while I wasn't trying to self-diagnose, that it sounded like IBS symptoms...he immediately said "Yes, you have IBS. Here's a prescription for 100% bran flakes, and if you have to just cram it in until you go." He hadn't even taken my vital signs, much less any other tests...he literally diagnosed me in under a minute after I'd only had the symptoms 3 weeks. I'm almost ticked enough to sue for medical malpractice, but that feels like bad karma. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
