Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | So happy I found this board!!

Hello everyone! I'm new to the board and boy am I glad I found you all...

I've had stomach problems for most of my life and within the last few years I've decided to try to help myself by eating right, exercising, etc. I've been taking Citrucel for about 3 years now. It was suggested by the doctor after I got to the point where my symptoms were unbearable. I'm still plagued by C, bloating, gas, and occasional (maybe once a month) stomach pains, but I've tried to learn what my food enemies are so I can stay away from them. It's weird...sometimes they bother me and sometimes they don't so I am very confused. My state of mind plays a HUGE role in how my body reacts and I've been trying to get a grip....but that's hard too sometimes.

Today I thought I was having a good day (2 BMs and no gas and bloating.) Then on the way home from my web design class I felt my stomach cramping a little. I thought it would go away because sometimes it does...but not tonight. I went home, had dinner and oh my goodness...I was nearly doubled over. I quickly made some Tummy Tea (peppermint) and I took 2 Equalactin pills and in 15 min. the pain was totally gone. What could have caused that episode? I had a PB&J sandwich for lunch (it was all I had in the house to take for lunch.) Was it the PB??

Anyway, just wanted to say "thank you" for all your wonderful posts and for the support you offer to those who suffer with IBS.
