Telling Our Secrets       01/17/04 01:43 PM Edit Reply Quote Bevvy Reged: 11/04/03 Posts: 5918 Loc: Northwest Washington State Okay -- if there's anyone who is scared of telling their secrets, it's gotta be me! I have plenty to be scared about. I was 50 years old when I finally told someone my biggest, most embarrassing secret -- and you know what? They didn't think I was a freak at all, they didn't think less of me, and in fact they didn't think anything about the secret itself! It was such a relief to me to finally "let it go." My friend (who I told) didn't like me less, she actually liked me more for sharing more of myself with her; it created a bond between us. I hope you get to the point where you can create a bond with your partner. It's really very helpful to have someone who can take away some of your pain. Trying to find excuses for your ailment just makes the stress of IBS even worse. Thanks for sharing with us -- see, we have a bond now!
