You might making them try using oatmeal instead of oat bran. Oatmeal which has the bran removed tends to have 2 grams of IF and 2 grams of SF but it also produces a functional fiber that acts like a soluble fiber when cooked. Not sure they same thing happens with oat bran.

I eat oatmeal every day but I doubt that I could eat the muffins you made because of the oat bran
