No personal experience with this but I believe Slippery Elm is a very gentle and soothing digestive remedy which supports healing of the digestive tract.

Also good is NAG (N-Acetyl Glucosamine) which is an important part of hair, nails and THE PROTECTIVE MUCOUS LINING OF THE GUT. It has been indicated as being very helpful for IBS. You can up your intake of this naturally by eating mushrooms, which are high in NAG. But, as with anything else, don't go eating masses and masses of mushrooms at every meal, please!!
