Canned tuna in water is safe. If you are saying that canned tuna eaten with nothing else (no bread, Vegenaise or chips) is causing problems you might consider that it isn't the tuna but rather the gastrocolic reflex. However, if you are saying that tuna with bread causes a problem then perhaps it is the fructans in the bread (read the first two links in my signature).
