I was wondering if it is possible for an overgrowth of bad bacteria to cuase fructose malabsorption symptoms but once the bacteria are killed, one can continue to eat fructose.
Also, if one does have bacterial overgrowth, do they need to be careful of all foods containing fructose or does the excess fructose rule still apply? For example someone with fructose malabsorption can eat bananas that arent overly ripe, however could the fructose content in bananas be bad for bacterial overgrowth?
How can you be sure which you have, will both breath tests come out positive no matter what the root cause?
I was given dulcolax for my colonoscopy which had lactose and sorbitan esterase ( I think thats what it was called) Im assuming this is related to sorbitol? THis would not be a good product for fructose malabsorption correct? I had a pretty severe reaction to it and Im wondering if it was those ingredients that caused it. My body felt like it was filled with air. Is it possible to get air like stuck in your neck and back from an allergic reaction?
