Here is a good description of an elimination diet from the University of Wisconsin family health department that may give you some good information.

Since IBS is not caused by food allergies it unlikely the IgG test will be helpful unless you have food allergies. If you do have food allergies antihistamines may act as a prophylaxis. If these foods are just IBS truggers then they likely would be of much values.
