Safflower is a thistle like plant from which oil like sunflower oil is produced. Citric acid is added as a preservative and flavoring/souring agent found in citrus fruits such as lemons and limes. It is like adding a bit of lemon juice. Soy is not listed as an ingredient. Does it say it does contain soy or it may contain soy because it is packaged in the same packaging plant as soy products are packaged?

If you are talking about Stash Lemon Ginger tea a call to customer service revealed the 'contains soy' statement is there because one of the flavors used in the tea contains soy
