Been struggling on my own for about 3yrs. Told doctors I was having alternating constipation and pre-mentrual "aggravated" diarrea. Annual gyn exam showed nothing, doctor said "may be" starting peri-menopause, "may be" endometriosis. 5 to 6-months later went in for upper abdominal pain, ultrasounds only showed gallstones. Referred to GI doctor who said I also "may have" IBS but she refused to treat me further until I had my gallbladder removed. Although I decided to hear out 2 different surgeons (one who said I wouldn't be able to control gallstones with diet), I REFUSED to have my gallbladder out! I've been modifing my diet for over a year with no more gallbladder pain and somewhat alleviated but no real change to my alternating GI symptoms. Today, I've read your site thoroughly and it makes so much more sense. I'm hoping to incorporate many of Heather's tips into my efforts so I ordered the Fennel Tummy Tea and Acacia Fiber. I didn't see any additional suggestions on PMS aids(evening primrose oil OK?)or diet modifications to help with gallstones (although I feel I have that under control).
