The calcium is tied up in the molecular structure of the calcium polycarbophil which is an indigestible soluble fiber. Since the body cannot digest it and it is not fermented in the colon it is unlikely that your body will absorb much of the calcium it contains. It has been used for the long term relief of C even in primary care facilities for a few decades with no apparent problems. If you have concerns speak with your physician.
