I would love to have a sticky post on this subject because there are all sorts of little things that prevent bloating. The biggest are:
no napping
eating often in really small amounts
peeing when needed from all the fennel tea, otherwise you can bloat when you need to pee
no high waists
eat standing up if possible
walk right after eating
acacia fiber through the day and pep caps before meals
chewing really thoroughly and eating slowly
being very calm while eating

Bloating is diverted for me when I make Chinese appetizer supper. Let me tell you why. I will make a bunch of small appetizers and hub and I will eat one while the next one is being made. I am cooking at the same time so I am standing the whole time. I eat one or two potstickers or spring rolls and cook some more and eat one or two more of something. That kind of eating (if you don't wolf it down) prevents bloat/gas. Kind of dinner party eating while standing, that is a sure bet IMO.
There are other little tidbits but these are my favs.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
