I do think you can make a successful cheese ball with or without the bacon bits. However, there ARE soy bacon bits available and also turkey bacon. Also rolling in finely chopped walnuts or almonds adds significant flavor and texture. Best of luck making a wonderful cheeseball. Perhaps you might want to share your final recipe here under the receipe section.
