Check the University of Michigan Health System web site discussion on alternative ways to manage diarrhea. Tannins extracted from blackberry leaves and roots in a tea may act as an astringent useful for managing diarrhea. The web site says there is little scientific evidence to support this claim. The fruit is high in insoluble fiber which may exacerbate IBS-D.

Even if it didn't help diarrhea much drinking pure blackberry juice without the pulp would give you some good vitamins and antioxidants. I extract juice from a mixture of berries and add two tbsp of juice to the water which I use to make oatmeal in the mornings.
