You are so right. Years ago there were no center aisles of a supermarket to get your load of junk food. There may have been a farmer's market, or you grew your own food. Most baked their own bread, actually made a real meal for their family, instead of something out of a box loaded with poisons.
It is a given that you must cook with IBS, if you want to feel your best. You have to control those ingredients...that is just the way it is. We have come so far from the way it used to be. No wonder there is IBS, colitis, crohns, heartburn, GERD, etc. We have to get back to the basics and then maybe we will be well. I think everyone needs to slow down and share meals with family and friends...home cooked that is, not quick pick-up or delivery.
