Heather reminds us that "ice-cold beverages on an empty stomach can trigger GI spasms, whereas the heat in hot teas is in and of itself a muscle relaxant." If you want a cold beverage, I would make sure it's not too cold (over ice). You can try to do the iced tea with peppermint or fennel which will also help your symptoms.
