Fibromyalgia and refined sugar

Thank you, Bevrs, Shellsbells, and Heather, for your responses about the diet for ibs-with-fibromyalgia. The ibs diet has been a lifesaver for me so I am relieved t have your reassurances. My problem is that I have used Heather's book/newletters almost excusively for recipes, along with the message board, and so many of them have sugar as a component. Has anyone out there tried to do Heather's diet without sugar, and do you have some suggestions?? (Any thoughts, Heather, of a recipe book for ibs-cum-fibromyalgia?)
I have a second question, and that is, Are sweet potatoes part of the deadly nightshade family and therefore not okay?
