Glutamine usually sold in the form of L-glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid found in most proteins sources. It is the most frequently occurring amino acid in nature found in such things as beef, chicken, fish, eggs, wheat, cabbage, beets, beans, spinach, and parsley. Adequate amounts of glutamine are generally obtained through diet alone because the body is able to make glutamine on its own. There is no consensus view that supports the routine clinical use of glutamine supplements in any specific situation.
