Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any of you have a problem with drinking water. I have IBS, and my diarrhea becomes worse when I drink tap water, drinking water, and spring water. I usually drink distilled water, and this water does not bother my stomach. My doctor, who specializes in gastrology (including IBS), told me that this is my imagination and that I should stop drinking distilled water. Does any of you have information about the relationship between water and IBS?
In addition, I am a bit confused about visiting a doctor, and it would be helpful if you could share your experience with different doctors. This doctor told me that I am imagining my problems because I am thinking too much about what types of food I can eat/cannot eat. (She did not like the fact that I brought a list of food items that I usually eat.) She told me that there is nothing wrong with me, and advised me that I should stop thinking about food. I am not sure what to do now because I am bothered by diarrhea and bloating these days, while I did not have these problems in the past.
Any advice or comments are more than welcome.
Thank you,
Karren
