HI all!! I have not posted in quite a while, been ill, but thank God not all to IBS. I have to have a barium swallow tomorrow morning and I already have GERD and usually when I have this test, I wind up throwing up the barium cause it's too thick and I can't swallow it. When I have an abdominal CT, I have the contrast and not the barium, but I have to do the barium tomorrow. Now, I can't remember "if" I get it down, does barium cause diarrhea or constipation? I can't take my fiber or anything in the morning before the tes t so can I take it with me and take it right after. I know the other contrast for a CT Scan give me horrible diarrhea for days. Any help with what the barium is going to do to me. Thanks
