I wouldn't think the Acacia would stop working. I've taken Miralax for the last 2 years, and even though it's not a fiber, I have not gotten immune to it. That doesn't mean it works on demand, but it does still work. Sorry if this didn't help much, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well!
