Hi,
I just finished reading "The First Year"... My Gastro advised me I have IBS... Everyone suggested, including the Doctor when first went to see him, that it is my Gallbladder... After all negative tests, he revealed that due to the process of elimination, I have IBS... Hmmmm!!! As I reviewed this great book, I found numerous areas of concern for myself and many things I probably should do, although I really don't completely fit the definition of IBS... I do have terrible pains, although on the right side and in my back, I bloat regularly, have gas, constipation, and reactions to all kinds of foods, especially to oily based foods... Sometimes, I have problems with it, and other times not... The biggest issue in my symptoms that is missing from the definition is that my main symptom is a brain fog and sometimes lightheadedness... Like yesterday, Christmas Day, I had Lasagna, with meatballs and sausage meat... Within 20-30 minutes, I begin feeling extremely tired and still almost 24hours later, I still feel the effects of it... As with the IBS syptoms I read about in the book, these symptoms are horrific to a person... I'm a male - 51 yrs old... I'd appreciate any help, direction or suggestions you could send my way... If it is IBS, please advise me, I can handle any diet to feel better...
Thanks, Junior
