Well, in a perfect world, they are supposed to bypass the stomach and release in the intestines... BUT, I tried them and I have terrible GERD...I was burping up peppermint all day. It was miserable! I do not recommend them to anyone with GERD!! Try Heather's Fennel tea mixed with some chamomile tea. I even make a pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator and sip on it all week.
