Fruits that are SF like the ones you mentioned, are recommended in higher volume and on an empty stomach. Apples and other higher fructose fruits are IF and should not be eaten on an empty stomach, but are generally considered okay if eaten w/out peeling and w/a good serving of SF. So for example, a rice cake w/some peanut butter along with an apple that has been peeled would be okay based on Heather's plan.
Fruits in general bother me and as much as I wanted also to eat locally and seasonally, I am not able to do that and neither are my kids. It frustrates me, but it just doesn't work. We generally eat bananas (never local in the US), mangoes (ditto),pineapple, apple, and blueberries. They also eat strawberries and raspberries blended into smoothies and tofu-based puddings.
