Julie,

I see your posts often, and don't reply. I've decided to reply to this one. If I was only eating oats, rice milk, carrots and mangos my tum wouldn't be happy either.

Not everyone can eat everything that Heather suggests for the BTC diet. For me, getting stable did not include oatmeal or any fruit. Just couldn't tolerate it. Refer back to Heather's BTC list for soluable fibre:

http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/fiber1.asp

For example - you are drinking rice milk - in my opinion - YECH!! I can't do it. Tummy doesn't like it. Have you tried anything else? Soy milk, almond milk?

Mangos - maybe you can tolerate them, maybe you can. Why not change it up a little - papaya, applesauce (homemade from Heather's recipe in the microwave is a breeze).

What about something else to eat? Your diet seems very limited. I cannot believe that is all you are eating every day. It would take its toll on me too.

What about some snacks? Here's another post:
http://www.helpforibs.com/messageboards/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=diet&Number=65272&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

(Sorry, I don't know how to compress the link like some others do here.)

And carrots - what about yams, potatoes, squash. Remember, the more mashable, the higher SF content.

And what about snacks? Do you eat anything throughout the day so you can keep something in your tum? Are you drinking plenty of water and herbal teas? Are you getting enough rest? Do you do anything to de-stress - yoga, hypno, exercise, meditate, etc?

I'm basically tired of seeing you suffer, but you don't offer us enough information to actually be helpful. You don't tell us very much about your attacks, other than you are scared of eating because of an ED. Sweetheart, it's not easy, but you have to take the proper steps forward. You have to add to what you are eating, from the SF food list of course until you are stable.

And don't take this wrong, but using a little punctuation in your posts would be helpful. That way I could tell if you're eating oats, rice, milk, etc OR oats, rice milk, etc. There's a difference!

I'm hoping this helps. Good luck.
