Yes, these capsules do contain soy. And he doesn't like peppermint tea. My son has been seeing a pediatric GI specialist for about two years. He has also seen a allergist, and does not respond on a skin test to any foods, so it is not a IGE-mediated allergy. He does have elevated blood liver enzymes, but it is not clear whether the liver damage is a cause or a consequence of the GI problems. We are discussing liver imaging and biopsy with the Dr.

We have thought about trying to mix our own peppermint pills by extracting the soy/peppermint from the capsules obtained from this site (we have bought some) and injecting 100% peppermint, diluted to some degree with safflower oil. But we thought we'd see if anyone else had any ideas.
