Food stuck in throat ???

This is just too wierd for me... Had this thing in back of my throat I thought was a polyp or maybe onset of strep. Kept trying to swallow to wash it down. After dinner last night, I didn't eat anything. When brushing my teeth this morning, I kinda choked on toothpaste, and out came a big gobb of stuff from my throat. Didn't catch in time before it went down the drain. Thought it looked like food particles. Noticed the polyp thing was gone. In parking garage at work, I felt something like a polyp in back of my throat again. I made myself cough and out came more food particles. I caught a piece of it in my hand.. It looked like a grain of rice. I still hadn't eaten since dinner the night before. Which I did have rice. Where is this gook coming from? Has anyone else had this happen?
I don't have a cold or sinus infection.. couldn't be mucous.
Just strange... Thanks!
