Pud - I do a lot of camping. I never take prepared foods. I prepare everything myself that way I know exactly what I am eating.

Will your car be near by when you are camping? If yes, buy a small electric cooler that runs off the car battery. If you freeze things before you go you can kept them cool enough in the cooler that you don't have to eat them for 2-3 days. I can pack enough perishables in a cooler to prepare 4-5 days of meals for two people. Using a small two burner Coleman camp stove I can prepare most of the meals I normally eat at home but in the luxury of the camp ground and beauty of the wilderness

However, if you are canoeing or hiking you have use a different approach.
