I tried it recently. I think its a great idea and I know a lot of people who have found it really helpful especially for pain issues or infertility. I went to a woman who was highly recommended by a close friend who went there for allergies. It's hard to know how much it actually helped. She recommended flax seed and acidophilus both of which did not help me a lot. She also gave me some herbs that made me extremely bloated (they were supposed to make me go to the bathroom which they did but also made me bloated). I am now going to the bathroom regularly every night, but I think it has more to do with the benefiber that I am taking with each meal (I am going to order acadia once my benefiber runs out because I think it's more cost effective). I still can't make the bloating go away even though its been over a month since I last took the herbs...I don't know if it just sparked something and then now it can't go away, not sure? It may have helped a bit with the bathroom, I was a bit more regular before I started taking the benefiber...but I sort of wish I didn't do it because I think I could've gotten regular with the benefiber and the oatmeal I've been eating and the bloating is driving me crazy!
I don't want to discourage you from trying it though because I think it can really help for some people. Maybe you should see if there is someone near you who has helped someone with IBS, maybe even with similar symptoms. I think part of the problem is that IBS is such a WEIRD disease- what can be the worst thing in the world for you could be the best thing for me, things like oatmeal, soy, sugar, etc affect people so differently. There is nothing concrete- I think thats why doctors do such a horrible job with it as well! Sorry if this didn't help either way, just my experience )
Overall I thought it was a positive experience, if I ever had a problem with infertility or something like that I think I would definitely go back.
