There is a lot of misinformation out there about protein and fiber. It seems people want you to believe you will lose weight and never be hungry if you eat protein and fiber. It isn't true though. The truth is you should eat all types of food in proportion. Real experts recommend an equal mixture of protein, fat and carbs. Eating all protein can cause the body to shut down in fact (source Delicious Living Magazine). But eating less calories is still desired of course. Protein is not magic! In fact for me, if I get filled up on two homemade mixed white and WW flour pancakes I will be full enough to get almost through lunch. Trying to stay full on protein like eggs and turkey would never bring me through and the calories are what counts. Try to eat more veggies and less things high in calories. Use acacia as a SF base and less simple carb foods. Hope this makes sense!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
