Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Don't Speak Too Soon & Dumb Things People Say

After my post last night re: Dicyclomine, I had an attack around 11:00pm. So,as I should know....NEVER speak too soon

Also, my bowel habits even with DYCLO aren't "normal" but normal enough to have a somewhat happy life.

I guess I also should have mentioned in my post that IBS never really goes away, especially the kind of IBS that is just part of you (me). I've ALWAYS had it...not like it just started 1 month, 2 years or 6 years ago...25 long, long years.

DUMB THINGS PEOPLE SAY:
"No, I can not "make it to the bathroom"

"No, just because there's a bathroom at "insert location" I still don't want to go just in case"

"No, Immodium won't make it go away."

"No, you DON'T know what I mean"

I have a million HORRIBLE experiences and know too much about "poop." Kinda sounds silly. But, I'm not laughing. Do you know that someone at work actually said to me "Oh, I HAD IBS last year, and it went away. Maybe yours will go away too!" YEAH...maybe Dumb***.

I'm sure we have all heard our share.
