Understanding Acacia a little more

When Mixing Heather's Tummy Fiber with water is seems to just disappear. I always thought of fiber as adding bulk and when mixed with water becoming a gel.

Does Acacia have the same positive effects on cholesterol that Psyllium and Glucomannan have? What about Glucose?

I see it's the fiber in the Fiber35 diet. Is there any research that would indicate that it's helpful with weight loss like Glucomannan?

Since it doesn't add bulk, how does it help with diarrhea?
