I know what you are talking about, I am completely ripped up from such severe C. I still do get the D attacks occastionally, but what is the worst is when you are having a D attack with all the cramping and urgency and such, but it is stuck behind severe C. You are sweating and trying to pass this blockage basically so your D attack can get out and these awful stabbing cramps in your stomach can go away. Anyways back to you. Yes, I often have to lay down after a BM because it takes so much out of me and things just don't feel right down there. If you have hemrroids, you can get an over the counter little tube that you put in the freezer and you can insert it into your anus to reduce inflammation and irritation, however, you do have to ask the pharmacist for it because they keep it behind their counter. It is only about 1.5 inches long and narrow enough to insert comfortably. The other thing is like someone else suggested, using some toilet paper to apply some Vit E ointment, or you can use latex gloves if you need to insert a little. No double dipping! Hey, remember, all this stuff about our rear ends is embarassing for every single one of us, but if we don't talk about it and we don't go to the Dr. because we are "embarassed", we will suffer in silence and there will be many serious illnesses and deaths that could have been prevented.
