I used to take Tums like they were going out of style and never thought I had a serious problem, but a few years ago I began vomiting sometimes when I had an ibs episode - something that had never happened before. A year ago, I had a bowel movement while riding in the car because I had an ibs attack and couldn't make it to the bathroom in time. Recently, I threw up in the car (and just barely made it to the bathroom in time for the other end). I saw my dr. today and he says he thinks two different things are going on - that I'm having heartburn and acid reflux *and* ibs. However, I've seen other reports of vomiting with the ibs on another site where people tell of their most embarassing moments with ibs, so...I'm just not sure. Anyway, if I have GERD (which I think is this hearburn and acid reflux), then - yes - I have it when my ibs flares up - sometimes. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
