Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi....Im 2 months into having IBS>...now have some good days.....and alternate between gas/mild constipation/gurgling and cramping/mausea.....i also have panic disorder and take a low dose of prozac..5mg.......and when i go out to a stressful event...ie large family dinner/work presentation/travel...i take .5 mg klonopin(ie tranquilizer)......so on thanksgiving, i ended up doing ok for most of the day at the family event but then the last hour i started getting severe cramping/pain.....led to panic attack and luckily we were about to go home....NOW im nervous about christmas eve and christmas day......on the eve we(family of 30) get together for HUGE italian dinner at 5 and it goes till 1am and im nervous that the same pain/cramping will happen and dont know how to handle......my doctor gave me donnatal(ie belladonna)....has anyone else ever taken this and if so, are there any side effects...its suppose to have phenobarbitol .....i cant think of anything else to do if this pain happens early into the evening...ie i would have to leave party and thats not easy since its an isolated beach house...and im not the one with the car....so, anxiety!
