Alkaline is the opposite of acidic. Eating alkaline foods can help reduce heartburn because it restores the stomach to a more balanced PH. A lot of people think lemon is pure acid and I'm not sure how this became widely accepted. All I can say is get a real lemon, not lemon juice packaged (which usually has citric acid added). http://www.proliberty.com/observer/20040711.htm I don't have problems with reflux, so I really can't tell from experience. However it may be worth looking into. Either way, honey will help.
