Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: Question for those pregnant with IBS

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, also. This is my first pregnancy. I was diagnosed with IBS around 5 years ago. Before I got pregnant I really was just starting to feel I had a handle on this IBS thing. I was finally accepting it and trying to not let it rule my life. Then I got pregnant and I have honestly been feeling awful since.

I'm starting to get a little C when I have always been D. Of course, it's the pregnancy that is doing that. I think it makes it hard for me because I can't do the one thing that used to help me when I would get attachs - a heat pack. The heat packs are what saved me most of the time but because we can't use that while pregnant I have to just suffer through them.

My diet is different because we need to eat fruits and veggies for the baby so that may be contributing to my attacks. So it has been a real struggle for me. I can't wait until this is all over and the baby is here! I count down the weeks.

How is your pregnancy? I have my ultrasound tomorrow and will be finding out the sex of the baby. Very exciting!
