I am 43 years old and have been having IBS symtoms for about 15 years, and learning how to control it through diet may be the best way to get through it.

For the past 15 years I could not drink milk anymore, would have the constipation, etc etc... I tried those lactose pills they did not work at all. It looks more and more like it could be a milk and gluen thing for me. It was funny I came accross a web site that showed gluten free foods and since I have created a low fat diet of food I can enjoy. Many of which are gluten free and low fat and seem to stop the sudden urges of constipation, diarrea and cramps etc.

If I eat pizza at this one shop I don't get any problems but if I went to another shop I would. It was getting really confusing. I recently found that my problems may be more gluten related then IBS. But many of the foods I eat now are low fat they actually show up in the list of gluten free. So I think I will be trying that type of diet and see how it goes. I used to get real sick eating peanut butter, but found JIF is gluten free and tried that so far so good. I also enjoy the non-fat yogarts you can get at costco and mcdonalds. They seem to to effect me. I am slowly intruducing more of these foods that I have avoided before but without the gluten.
